A Practice Built Around
Listening Carefully

Wongse Dhamma was founded with one clear purpose: to make inheritance matters less daunting for families in northern Thailand.

Our Story

How Wongse Dhamma Began

Wongse Dhamma was established in Chiang Mai after its founders noticed a recurring difficulty: families facing estate or inheritance questions often felt unclear about their situation, uncertain about the law, and unsure who to turn to. Legal processes can seem remote, and the terminology rarely helps.

The practice was set up to address that gap directly. From the first conversation, the focus is on understanding the family's situation fully before anything else happens. Advice follows listening — not the other way around.

Over the years, the practice has supported families at many different points: those preparing wills while circumstances are calm, those dealing with an unexpected bereavement, and those working through longer estate matters with multiple parties involved. In each case, the approach has remained the same — steady, unhurried, and clear.

We work within Thai inheritance law, and we also assist expatriate families and mixed-nationality households with the particular considerations those situations involve. Consultations are available in English and Thai.

Our Expertise

Inheritance Law in Thailand — What Families Actually Need to Know

Thai inheritance law sets out how assets pass from one generation to the next, and it interacts in particular ways with property ownership rules, family structure, and, in some cases, foreign nationality. For families who have built a life in northern Thailand — whether locally born, long-term residents, or part of a mixed household — these questions are practical and immediate, not academic.

A carefully drafted will removes much of the uncertainty. It records a person's wishes in the format required by Thai law, identifies heirs and executors, and provides a clear document that those left behind can rely on. Prepared thoughtfully, it is one of the most considered things a person can do for the people they care about.

Estate resolution — the administration and distribution of assets after a death — can involve court appointments, documentation of assets, liaison with land offices, and coordination between parties. Having steady legal support through that process reduces stress and helps ensure matters are concluded properly and without unnecessary delay.

At Wongse Dhamma, our work focuses entirely on inheritance and estate matters. That focus means we stay current with how the law is applied in practice, including the procedural details that can make a real difference to how smoothly a matter proceeds. Families who speak with us come away with a clearer understanding of where they stand and what, if anything, they might want to do next.
